About the Game

Legend of Grimrock is a dungeon crawling role playing game with an oldschool heart but a modern execution. A group of prisoners are sentenced to certain death by exiling them to the secluded Mount Grimrock for vile crimes they may or may not have committed. Unbeknownst to their captors, the mountain is riddled with ancient tunnels, dungeons and tombs built by crumbled civilizations long perished now. If they ever wish to see daylight again and reclaim their freedom the ragtag group of prisoners must form a team and descend through the mountain, level by level.

The game brings back the oldschool challenge with highly tactical real-time combat and grid-based movement, devious hidden switches and secrets as well as deadly traps and horrible monsters. Legend of Grimrock puts an emphasis on puzzles and exploration and the wits and perception of the player are more important tools than even the sharpest of swords could be. And if you are a hardened dungeon crawling veteran and you crave an extra challenge, you can arm yourself with a stack of grid paper and turn on the Oldschool Mode which disables the luxury of the automap! Are you ready to venture forth and unravel the mysteries of Mount Grimrock?

Update

VG247 contacted Henrique Olifiers, head of Bossa Studios regarding the theories:

"Yep, this was an interesting one to wake up to this morning, I give you that. The easter-egg is a fundamental part of an upcoming July update of the game, but nothing to do with a Valve title, I’m afraid."

Another day, another HL3 rumour quashed.

Original Story

Half-Life 3. The unreleased, unannounced, unconfirmed game has reached an almost mythical status amongst gamers. The game is so strongly anticipated, that there is even an ongoing joke that fans see Half-Life 3 clues in everything. However, some snappy internet users have unearthed some of the best evidence towards a Half-Life 3 announcement that we've seen yet.

Here's an image currently popular on Reddit, posted by user LongLeggedLurk, that sums up a lot of what has been unearthed so far:

HL3

OK, so it's still not exactly water-tight evidence. But Valve must know what they're doing when they take direct quotes from the Half-Life series, and involve it in a hidden puzzle. I mean, if not then that's some pretty heavy-handed trolling on Valve's part. Do you think we've just seen the first glimpse of Freeman's next adventure, or just an overthought easter egg announcing the summer sale? Let us know in the comments!

Either way, many Valve fans will be keeping their eyes and ears open tomorrow. Rise and shine.
