Publisher 505 games announced today that Payday 2, sequel to the warmly received Payday, will be getting a physical distribution for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. As well as being released on disc, it will be available as a downloadable title for PSN, XBLA and Steam.
"We have a bit of a problem here at Overkill — there are just too many great ideas and none that we were really happy to throw out — so Payday 2 has become just too big to reserve release on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network alone" stated director David Goldfarb.
505 Game's head of global brand, Tim Woodley added, "We're expecting great things from Payday 2 and are really looking forward to working with our retail partners all over the world to make it the huge success it deserves to be". 
The Payday series features players teaming together in a heist-themed FPS. Players must infiltrate a building, crack a safe and steal its contents, all while facing increasingly more difficult waves of AI police.
Payday 2 will be released August this year.
