Need for Speed: The run relies on arcade racing, quick-time sequences and a superficial story, to sew together 50 race-tracks split into 10 stages. The story begins with a quick-time event, where the player must click appearing buttons to save the protagonist Jack Rouke from death. Jack Rouke is a highly indebted race-driver, hunted by the mafia for monetary reasons whose only way out of this, is to take part in a race called “The Run”. A race where about 150 different drivers fight through the whole USA (San-Francisco to New York), to win a huge money prize. At the beginning, the player can choose a car from one of the three vehicle groups: muscle, tuner or exotic and then has to fight his way out of the city, which is full of police units.
